Guilford Rotary Club Memorial Educatonal Fund provides scholarships and no-interest loans for deserving Guilford residents. Funds are used for tuition and expenses at trade schools, colleges, graduate schools, and other educational institutions.
How to Apply for Financial Aid
First, obtain and fill out an application. You can download a printable application right now. In the period from April 1 to May 1 you also can pick up application forms at Guilford Free Library, the Community Center, Women & Family Life Center, the Office of Wayne Staschke (the Fund Treasurer) at 2415 Boston Post Rd., Unit 14, Guilford CT, and, if you are a Guilford High School student, at the High School Guidance Office.
To complete your application package you will need to supply information about the school you plan to attend, some financial details, personal references, at least three letters of recommendation, and a brief essay telling us about you and your educational goals.
We must receive your application package on or before May 1 to be considered for the Spring awards period.
After you have submitted your application package you will likely be contacted to set up an appointment for a personal interview with Directors of the Memorial Educational Fund. All applicants will be informed about the results of the application process in a timely manner. If the Fund is able to help you, we will tell you the amount and nature of the grant and provide an award check made out to you and the institution you are planning to attend.
Although we concentrate our educational aid activities in the April to May timeframe, the Fund will consider applications for financial aid at any time during the year.
